They Might Be Giants
Wuggie said it was the best day ever. Screamed and waved his hands in the air and sang along with his favorite songs.
Dad asked later "when will we find out for sure whether they are Giants or not?"
Wuggie says "Dad, we saw them...they're not"

AMAZING NEWS!
Time Warp
Wuggie and I jut finished listening to C.S. Lewis's The Horse and His Boy on our commutes to church. He was very confused about how Peter and Lucy and all were in this story, which was written 5th in the series. I took out the old copy of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe that my dad gave me when I was little, and showed him the sentence in the last chapter about how they ruled for many years. "It all takes place right in that sentence" I told him. He thought this was hilarious.

Grass Roots List
In our current bedtime book "The Mysterious Benedict Society" the heroes are advised that it is a good idea to keep a journal when you travel. Here is the journal kept by our family and friends at Grass Roots:

The Make Peace Brothers invite the "Little Make Peace Brothers" on stage to dance. They are all under 4 years old, and some can really boogie.
The WICB guitar is WAY better than the WBVR guitar.
"The Flying Clouds love our music store"
5:00 am "Why do they not shut up?"
Friday:
Amazingly large Strawberry in the hospitality tent (Wuggie insists we document it).
3 middle aged ladies dancing around 1 middle aged guy in a cowboy hat
Tap shoes in the dance tent
"Look Wuggie- a Labyrinth!"
"Cool"
Backstage at New Neighbors in the rain.
American Legion Cheese Fries
Kevin Kinsella invites his daughter on stage to sing with him, but she is still in bed.
"Browbeat" (our favorite MadLibs word)
Bubbles and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings
John Brown's Body proclaims "We meet again Grass Roots"
Saturday:
"The American Legion puts on a great dining experience"
"If only there was a pool"

Double Sided
Here's Wuggie's recent environmental commentary:
"We should always use both sides of a paper, right?"
"Right"
"And then we should recycle the paper, right?"
"Right"
"But on Post-it notes you can only use one side because of the sticky stuff on the other side."
My eye falls on the array of post-its I have spread out before me organizing my life. He's got me there.

time joke
Here's Wuggie's awesome joke yesterday (Thursday) after school:
Mom: Tomorrow's another half day
Wuggie: Does that mean it will still be Thursday?
It took me a while to get it. I'm a little slow.
This morning I woke him saying:
Time to finish the other half of Thursday.

Tae Kwon Do
Last week Wuggie Norple and his good friend took their first Tae Kwon Do class. At first they both looked a little bewildered, but then they got to punch, kick and yell. By the end of the class Wuggie's face was red and his smile was beaming. I asked him on the way home "how was it?" He replied "It was AWESOME."

Cousins
The house is quiet right now, and for once this is not a happy thing. Wuggie's Cousins and Aunt and Uncle just left, Wuggie left for school with a tearful goodbye, his dad headed off to work, and I am at my computer, listening to the quiet of a cold snowy day, and waiting until I can pick Wuggie up at his bus stop. The weekend was fun and filled with shrieks, giggles, spinning and snuggles. We were blessed with just enough snow to put on snow boots and make a snow man, but not too much to keep us from the ChiliFest on the commons or from the science center. We will miss our cousins until we can see them again. (Next time, Wuggie says, a Magic Show!)

Sad news about an egg
On day 7 of our experiment, as we got ready for the big moment (dropping the vinegar marinated raw egg into a bowl to see if it bounces) the egg slips from Wuggie's hand onto the floor. It did not bounce. It splatted. We were very sad. At least we contributed to science.

Glowing Bouncing Egg!
Did you know that if you soak an egg in vinegar for 7 days it will bounce
when you drop it into a bowl? You can also while you are waiting for 7 days if you get bored take a flashlight and the egg and go into a really dark room. Next shine the flashlight onto the egg. The Egg will glow, just like in this picture. (Wuggie)

Froggie Honey Crumple Thumpkin
Today Wuggie was experimenting in the kitchen (eating that is) and he (he and Ma that is) invented "Froggie Honey Crumple Thumpkin." You can make this if you want S'Mores and don't have graham crackers.
Melt marshmallows and chocolate chips in the microwave for 20 seconds on Medium
It will poof up in a giant poof!
Then mix it
Then pour over Annie's Bunny Honey Grahams
Top with more Bunny Grahams
Dig in!
Then eat some real food before you get sick (says Ma)

Ice Day
Today Wuggie and I made lunch, packed the backpack, put on our snowboots, scraped the ice off the car and drove up to school. No traffic. No crossing guards. No school.
I hadn't even checked the news to see if school was closed because there was no snow. I didn't know you could have an ice day. We drove home and turned on News10Now. No school! We did the dance of joy and Wuggie is building a Hot Wheels race track while I write my sermon. Dad made hash browns to celebrate.

Nights of New Year
Wuggie Norple would like you to know that on 12/31/08 he stayed up until the very end of the year, and into 2009. He and his 2 young friends drank themselves silly on Red and Pink "Champagne" and stayed up to watch the ball drop. He says "it wasn't like I thought."
Happy New Year!
